Cross Training
Program

PURPUS:

Our goal at SPVA is to train the entire athlete.  While our time in the gym focuses mainly on team and individual volleyball skills, there is more to becoming a good player than just those things.  The cross training we have included as a part of our SPVA program helps to focus on other areas in which an athlete needs to grow and learn.  Our cross training workouts are as important as our time on the court.

GOAL:

 

To cross train athletes of Sky Performance Volleyball Academy.  Points of emphasis include:

  • Agility and strength development

  • Sport specific movement

  • Mental mindset of training

  • Physical preparation for competition

  • Mental preparation for competition

  • Team spirit

  • Work ethic

 

DATES/TIME:

  • Dec 29 - Fri 6-7 - Orientation

  • Jan 5 - Fri 6-7

  • Jan 26 - Fri 6-7

  • Feb 9 - Fri 6-7

  • Feb 18 - Sunday 12-1

  • March 1 - Fri 6-7

  • March 17 - Sunday 12 - 1

  • April 5 -  Fri 6-7

  • April 19 - Fri 6-7

 

GUIDELINES:

 

  • Come 10 minutes early

  • Wear comfortable apparel

  • We will be in bare feet in the training area, sorry no exceptions

  • We have 3 bathrooms and a water fountain, but water bottles welcome

  • We have a lobby that parents can watch from if they want to come

  • Entering the property:  We only enter through Washington St (the back) and exiting the alley or Philadelphia Ave (the front)

 

Parking:  On the property there is a lower, middle & upper lot. You may only park in Ellixson’s Tae Kwon Do Academy marked signs, which is the middle lot.  The upper and lower lot is not ours and they tow quickly if you park there.  Our overflow lot is at BK Upholstery catty-cornered to the Orioles, 4th & Washington St. Also on street parking.
